Do-It-Yourself Seized I can't remove the Brake Rotor

Help. The first thing I did was sprayed penetrating oil round bolts and hub. I tried a dead bow hammer. I have tapped out the holes (they are full of rust) and installed jack bolts. It cracked around the jack bolt holes and I can't move it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

A few good whacks with a regular sledge hammer will usually free up the rust on the back of the rotor thats seizing it to the hub assembly. Light hits around the rotor surface front and rear will start cracking the rust away.

If your hammer won't work, get a bigger hammer!

What's really fun is a rotor that is stuck on and has the retaining bolt stripped out... Need a big f***ing hammer to break the rotor around the bolt.

Just be sure the vehicle is well supported when whacking -- don't want to knock if off the jack stand...

Sounds like yer replacing the rotor. If so, heat it up with a torch and then whack it with a hammer...
