Question CHECK Engine alarm after slipping

Hello, fellows!

I have '03 Highlander 2.4 4WD. Yesterday I tried to rise up to hill on my HL and make slipping. Front left and rear right wheels had slipped about some seconds. After that "CHECK engine" alarm appeared on panel. Scanner showed P0500 - vehicle speed sensor error. This alarm wasted next day.
Anybody know why this happened? Is slipping off-design mode ? Is it serious failure in electricity of my HL?
Any help will be very appreciated!

Check specified resistance on the speed sensors for the wheels in question. Use a digital ohm meter along with the Toyota specs. Yu don't need to actually remove the speed sensor just disconnect the harness plug and measure at the terminals.
