Default 08 Highlander battery issues?

My 08 with 18k on it has had the battery die 3-4 times in the past 2 weeks..today I had to jump it this morning, drove it around for about 45 mins, went to the gym for about an hour and then went out to come home and it was dead...I had an appt this Thurs to have it looked at but I may have it towed to the dealer today and they can fix it sooner...anyone else have these issues? I had a similar issue with the battery on my 07 Tundra...

Something is being left on killing the battery. Maybe its a dome/glovebox light or aftermarket add on, or maybe a door isn't fully closed??

A battery's life is shortened greatly with one complete drain.

Replace the battery. And, find out what is killing it.

Checked everything and nothing was left on; dealer replaced it under warranty and said it had a dead cell.

The fact that the battery had a dead cell doesn't necessarily mean it was the battery at fault. A deep discharge can cause a cell short if the draw is high and/or repetitive.

But the dealer stepped up anyway. That's great.

Good luck.

same thing happened with my '08 highlander. only 13K miles. 2 batteries already. nothing draining it. dealership kept it over night and wasn't able to detect any draining source. replaced with new and reason of dead cell. if it happens again, i might pursue Lemon Law avenues.

I don't know who is making the batteries for Toyota but I had a battery issue with my 07 Tundra as well..they charged it and I have not had issues since but can say I have not had good luck with Toyota vehicles/batteries.
