Default Help me to choose which one is the best tire for my Highlander

My Highlander is 2003 2WD V6, about 140K miles
The size is 225/70R16
After I did some searching on Tirerack and some other sites, I have some good choises for my car, there are:
Kumho Solus KR21
Yokohama AVID TRZ
Yokohama H/T-S G051
General Grabber HTS
I live in Southern California. My driving style is average, I usually drive on freeway and a little in city. I would like tire which are last long, save gas mileage, good handling and traction control in wet or dry weather. A little noise is not a problem .
Can anyone please give me an advice which one is the best for my situation?
Many thanks!

I'd probably go with the TRZ's but the KR21's get good reviews too. I like tirerack, but with shipping and another 60 bucks for installation you might want to check out Costco or Sams and see what they have.

I already checked, Tirerack has the best price including shipping and installation.

I put the Yoko H/Ts on last Fall (here in NJ). Nice ride and good handling -- a good deal given their price. Worked well during the winter months too - but not likely something you'll need to worry about down south? Had these on another SUV a few years back -- good experience there too.

Michelin Lattitude Tour (not Tour HP as in tire rack discussions). Supposedly an energy efficient tire. 8,000 miles highway, long road trip, city driving all sorts of weather except ice and even through mud. 2006HH 2WD Ltd. Tires are great!!! Quiet!!! Almost no problem with longitudinal grooves in pavement tracking and rarely do I run across a road section that feels rough. Interestingly enough when we purchased, Costco.com had listed them as one of the "authorized tires". Their system is so strange, that unless the particular tire pops up when you input your vehicle info, you can't even order the tires or get them put on there. Bought 5 all round (spare was really bad) and with purchase, tax, install, RH Warranty etc., all came to <$1100. Thought was kind of pricy until on road trip ran over road junk kicked at me by another car and ripped up front bumper and sliced tire. Ins Co paid repair shop more than $300 for the tire alone. FYI, front bumper cover for 06HH is only about $225, but you should see what they charged my ins for labor, paint, etc.

The General Grabbers were Consumer Reports' favorite tire and scored #1 for Crossover/SUV/Light Truck tires in almost every condition they tested. In addition they're really affordable compared to the other options. I have an 03 HL as well and will be looking at the Grabbers myself.

Good luck

I recommend the GoodYear TripleTred Fortera, which I have had on my '04 Highlander for 2 yrs. A rare all season w full winter rating. Quiet, smooth riding, excellent traction, good off road, good steering response, minimal squeal and understeer on corners, good in rain, good snow traction and, as far as I can tell, good wear. Certainly the best all season I have yet experienced (45 years driving).

I have an 04 LTD, so I have 17" rims, the only choice I had at Costco were very expensive Michelins. I also looked at the top rated tires from Consumers and ended up buying the Kumho Road Venture APT51, rated highly. I have had them for several thousand miles now and the difference between these and the original Michelin LX4 Energy is great. These are so quiet and smooth riding, the Michelins were never that nice, even when new. Very good pricing on tire rack also! Now looking at getting them for my Tundra.

I am one that never buys road hazard insurance, but with less than 1000 miles on the Kumho's I got a nail in the sidewall and had to buy a new tire. I just wish Costco had more choices in tires.
