Default TRAC engage/disengage with brake pedal depressed

I have a situation that I am hoping someone can either tell me is normal or some sort of special feature...

2009 Highlander Limited V6
2WD
Remote Key (Push Button Start)

The issue: When stopped, depressing the brake pedal hard (trying to go to the floor) activates or deactivates the TRAC. I get the orange flashing icon on the dash cluster showing that TRAC has been disabled or abled.

Why is the vehicle doing this? I am noticing no braking issues or other abnormal issues with the brakes or wheels.

Any help?

Thanks!
