Default New tires on our 08 Highlander Sport

Well after several weeks of research to find a stock replacement of the 245/55/19 Toyo A20, I only found the Bridgestone crap tires, Toyo A20 (stock), or the Toyo Open Country H/T. The Blizzaks are another winter tire, but specifically for snow/ice. I really liked the H/Ts for all-season, but unfortunately three separate sources stated that Toyo has a national back log on these exact tires... I found out from America's Tire the next size up 255/55/19 were easily available and would fit the stock rim without rubbing or any problems.

Well, the new tires do not rub as stated and I am happy to have the Toyo Open Country H/Ts that I wanted. Its almost winter and we get occasional light snow fall, and good amount of rain. In our rural area we have a lot of puddles and flooded streets, so the H/Ts should make a great difference over the stock tires that tend to hydroplane around here.

If I only knew this before I was already commited and in dire need of tires... I might have been able to do more research to find other tire options.... thats why I am posting this here, in case some other sap needs tires too.

Unfortunatly those are the only choices for the 245/55/R19 and I received a note this week from Michelin that they have no plans on making that size tire. As for the Blizzak's, mine have been on backorder since June and keep getting moved out, now the date 'expected' is the third week of November...... I will go with the HT's when and if they become available.

Toyota really screwed up on this one by picking a size no one offers

I run the Blizzaks DMZ3's year round. Summers are short here.

DMZ3 are discontinued now and DMV1's are whats new.
