Default Day time Running Lights (DRL)

My 2002 Highlander did not come with Daytime running lights. Does anyone know if there is a way to activate the Lights ? If its a fuse or relay that needs to be installed that would seem to be easy enough.

Thanks !

Turn them on with the switch. The entire wiring for the headlight circuit is different with drl.

Thanks for the info nhparrot.... I noticed that Highlanders use the high beams at what appears to be at a lower voltage for DRL. So I thought I would ask .

Turn them on with the switch? What switch? I've never seen a Toy HL without DRL. 4 cylinders or 6 cylinders, 2WD or 4WD, they all came with DRL. Something must be wrong with your fuse or relay. I say check them out or take it to a Toy Dealer.

I meant the headlight switch. If you don't have DRL's it would be an extreme PITA to try to retrofit an existing vehicle. FYI, DRL is not standard on all HL models. DRL are standard on the Limited, but an option on the V6 and 4 Cyl Base models.

Question Daytime Running Lights

Is there a way to turn the DRL's off when the car is put in park with the engine running? If I drive somewhere, park, and leave the car running the DRL's stay on.

Not unless you shut it off and then engage the parking brake before starting.
