HighlanderGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid.
This is a discussion thread titled "Highlander Aftermarket Parts", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Does anyone know of an instrument cluster replacement for the Highlander that'd give a black on white look? I have a harder time seeing the standard panel sometimes depending on the lighting conditions.
I can't really help you there, but sometimes I have problems with seeing whether or not the A/C, recycle air, or rear defrost is on. I was thinking about modifying the LEDs inside to blue or maybe a better contrast color when the sun is on it.
So far, searches have come up short. :\ Probably not much use of creating aftermarket parts for a "family" type vehicle.
As far the brightness of the LEDs, ther'es the intensity adjustment on the instrument cluster. I haven't touched that since buying the beastie but turned it all the way and clicked it past a point and now the LEDs are very bright. Didn't help the instrument cluster lighting but perhaps that might help you.
As for me, I'm thinking of giving the Tundra a shot. I miss my T-100...
I have a quick question. My parents own a 2003 highlander and im tyring to find a good outside temp gauge for a bday present for my dad. It didnt come with one like the tundra's have in their rear view mirrors. Does anyone know of an aftermarket part that has what im looking for. I checked with TRDparts4U and they had the rear view mirror with compass but it didnt include the temp gauge like the tundra. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for everyone's time.
Doug

Check on e-bay there are several Toyota dealers that have factory Toyota mirror kits for sale or bid. Not sure I've ever seen one for the Highlander bit it won't hurt to look. Another online source might be Toyota of Goldsborough or soming like that. TOYOGOBO is their screen name on ebay and they have a big store there.

PS: You could check on the Gentex web site they make some of the EC, temp, compass mirrors that area used in Toyotas. Or www.mitocorp.com is their distributor for the USA.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
Newbie here so please bear with me. I'm looking for recommendations on where to buy aftermarket accessories like bodykits or other exterior styling parts for the Highlander. I see so many plain highlanders around and being a tuner enthusiast I just have to make mine unique.
Based on yahoo searches I know there are at least 2 kits (Erebuni/JDM Kluger, and Elegant), are there any others? I did a search here also but didn't find a whole lot about aftermarket except pics of people who already have kits (cardomain.com profiles). Suggestions on reliable or inexpensive places to buy from would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Highlander aftermarket parts are hard to find thats why no ones responding, i look on ebay everyday for something interesting to be sold, so far theres nothing. You could put on guards like i did to make it unique if u want to.

No, but then again I guess the majority of Highlander owners probably are not into drastic exterior restyling with things like bodykits. It seems the aftermarket is very limited for this car, which is probably a good thing. Modifying is an expensive addiction and they're better off financially not being infected.
I've been doing some of my own research since I first posted this so I guess I'll just answer my own question here in case anyone else needs this info in the future. I wasn't able to find very much so if anyone knows of any other sites that may be helpful to fellow Highlander owners please leave a post here.
thats some nice finds , personally it these body kits make it look like a minivan but the chrome grill is definitly hot. If it wasn't so damn expensive though.......
