HighlanderGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid.
This is a discussion thread titled "Climate control issues", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
It seems to me that the climate control never shuts off. It seems to me it blows the type of air the middle knob (the one with the blue, white, red stripe) is set to and it blows it in the dirrection the direction knob (the one which shows the people and arrows) points to. The a/c button and light are not on and niether is the fan on. Is this the climate control doing it or is there air somehow getting in the cabbin from the dash board area while the car moves.? and how do u shut it off?

Try pushing or ? the recirc button. It's the one with the arrow in a horizontal U shape. It places the damper in a recirculating mode with no outside air being brought into the passenger compartment. Most newer cars that I know of always bring in outside air when they are in motion, on some the fan never completely stops running. I do believe the fan stops in Toyota's but air will come in when you're in motion through the cowl inlet vent without the recirc mode engaged. Might get a little stuffy in there in that mode of operation. Make sure everyone's showered.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

I noticed weird things on my Tundra awhile ago and as cleanup continues around the Highlander forum, I thought I would post a link to the thread I started awhile back regarding Climate Control Issues and maybe this is related.
