"The cheese is only free inside the mousetrap"
Green V6 2wd highlander
(alarm, wheel locks, vin number on windows options)
Manik Full Front Guard
Manik Rear Guard
Manik Side steps
Velvet seat covers
Chrome Exhaust Tip
Hyper White xenon bulbs
Tint 20% rear, 30% front
That's gotta be the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. I would love to see it roll over the second it goes over a small boulder.

Photoshop 'ed and a crappy job. I probably can't do any better but that's a bad photo shop if the person was trying to make it look real. First off, the angle of the highlander and the angle of the axles is totally off.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-assed set of tires on his truck.

A few thoughts that passed thru both of my brain cells…
Is there hope for after market parts for my Highlander?
Isn’t this the American art form? Whether real or Photoshop.
All rock crawlers look ridiculous by definition; anyway did this car remain AWD? Or was that replaced? Who says you can’t put a Highlander body on another frame & drive train. If Jesse James did this project would he get this reaction? But he would most definitely change the paint.
Would I get some respect here if I added a turbo-charger? (When they come available as bolt on of course). First I learn to make my mud mats fit & then tackle the charger.
Brooklyn Driver has some spunk. But I am no fan of street racing.
Anyway the reaction to the original message surprised me, seems a little closed minded & provincial. A little nut turning mindish.

But then again I am not lurking on YotaTech am I?
Sorry if these words hurt.
have a nice day
*There are bodykits for the highlander being sold on ebay, which is a new thing.
*I think it is an american art form because i haven't seen lifts anywhere else.
* You can get respect now, but a turbocharger wouldn't hurt.
* The lift is excessive.
* If your not a fan of street racing why do you want a turbocharger?

that is not a "rock crawler". that is a "BDT". there is no love because the highlander might be nice on its own, and the suspension and drivetrain used on that particular project might be nice in its own right, but the combination is like putting ketchup on steak. sorry, no love...show me pics of that...thing...off the pavement and it might be redeemable.
were two threads merged here or something? the comments dont seem to flow properly.
I don’t want a charger, too much $ & may be incompatible w/ the 04 6 engine. It was just a comment. I am not aware that one is made, except for the thingy that replaces the muffler, maybe. I am not for street racing for very personal & life changing reasons, all because speed >driver skill for a split second.
D-67:
BDT? Maybe a SDT? They aint very big…try folding up the 3rd row then try to put some luggage in…now that is dumb!
Lots of folks like ketchup w/ steak, maybe even the next President.
A rather astute comment I found in the TS off road forum:
They are selling attitude to people who want to buy attitude, not selling capability to people who need/want capability. the few who do want a luxury vehicle with outstanding abilities offroad will modify until they have what they want, so there's little reason to actually make those vehicles capable of running a harder trail right off the lot...even jeeps.

No, nothing was merged with this thread, it is as it reads. I guess that just goes to show how crazy something like this is. People can't even describe it to make sense on a forum!
