I have a 01 tundra that also did not have heated seats. I am not sure it was an option on the 01s. I did purchase some seat heaters off e-bay and installed them in my truck. So the answer to your question is they can be installed but they are not in the seats. You will have to remove the seats, disassemble the seats, and remove the leather to install the seat heaters. It will take a few hours but is well worth the work. Once the heaters are in the seats you just need to install the switches and wire to power. The ones I purchased came with everything necessary to complete the install except the drill bit and I purchased additional zip ties. They also have 2 temperature settings.

Thanks,

Dan

Exclamation Highlander seat heaters very poor

I just traded out of an 02 Highlander Limited into an 04 4Runner, and there is NO COMPARISON in the seat heaters. The Highlander ones are wimpy and automatically cycle on and off. The heaters in the 4Runner are on a variable switch with 5 positions and I can literally feel the heat within 30 seconds. They are wonderful!
