Default Heating system not warm enough

Hi,

I recently bought a slightly used 2004 HL V6 with manual climate control. Since we live in a polar country (Canada) and rely quite heavily on heater, I notice that in a -20 degree (Celcius) weather, the heater doesn't seem to warm the interior fast and hot enough even with the knob fully turned.

I don't know whether this is normal for a bigger car with bigger interior room, I used to own a small Acura EL and boy, the heater will make you sweat in minutes even in sub-zero weather!

Anyone experiencing similar situation?

Thanks,
Mark

From what i'v noticed, the heater does take a little time to warm up the car because the engine is initially cold and if u turn the heat on itll blow cold air at u. After a few minutes of driving it begins to blow warm air.

I have a Highlander, when it is really cold I'll put the system on recirc as the cabin starts to be heated. It's easier to heat up 40 F air than 10 F outside air. Each time the air goes back through it gets warmer. You do have to watch out for condensation that will start to build up on the inside of the windows from your breath but by the time you start to see condensation on the glass it's usu sally warm enough to switch to fresh air.
