Default Add a hot water control valve?

Has anyone ever added a hot water control valve to the heater hoses to stop hot water flow to the heater core under the dash??

i am told Highlanders do not have hot water control valves (like my Camry did) -as a result with my A/C on full cold I get a heating effect of about 5-8 degrees in mild weather (comparing outside air with what comes out the dash).
So this 5-8 degrees is also being added in the summer when its 100+ outside.

anyone ever tinkered with it??????
