Default Dinghy Towing Highlander

I'm moving to Alaska in the end of June and I'm thinking of towing a Highlander 4x4 automatic behind my Tundra. Any suggestions on that matter would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alex

Default Towing Highlander

Read owners manual carefully under "Dinghy Towing". If you have a 2002 it will probably say "NO". Earlier recommendations allowed towing as long as you stopped every 200 miles and started the engine to re-lube the transmission. Too many people didn't follow this instruction so Toyota rescinded the approval for dinghy towing. Too many warranty jobs on burned up trannies. If you tow too far or too fast the transmission will throw off all the oil and run dry since the pump is not running. SD

Try using a trailer where you can get all four tires of the Highlander off the ground.

Default North to Alaska

San Antonio - to Alaska - why !?? Gets real cold up there - don't ya know (and DARK) (and the mosquito is the state bird!). Otherwise it is beautiful.
Vansolo is probably correct. Probably take a 2000 lb tandem trailer. About 6000 gross for the Tundra to pull. Thats a load.
You may want to price shipping the Highlander. You may be able to drive it in a day less and save a lot of gas (and wear and tear). My .02. SD
