Default is it possible to swap out manual climate controls with auto climate

is it possible to swap out the center controls with manual
climate controls with the auto climate controls?

does anyone know if the connector on the back are the same? and it's just a matter of swapping out the center
dash controls? is the auto climate control a standalone assembly or it has other sensors that need to be attached to it?

thanks in advance.

I looked into this on one of my other cars (not a Toyota) and it was MUCH more than swapping the controls. There are sensors, etc that are missing.

Hope that helps. If it was that easy, I would do it to.

Maybe you can call your local dealer and ask?

I tried a lot about this. Looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like much stuff is missing. But, I did not look in the vechile.

I am also looking for some expert answering this.....

Thanks,

I'd sure ask the dealer for expert advice. If you buy the parts based on an "internet expert" and they don't work, all you have to fall back on is "some guy on the internet told me it would work.....".

If your talking about a 2005 Highlander, it can be done BUT........
You have to change A/C-Heater controls, air bag sensor assy, temp sensors
A/C-Heater box assy, Blower motor control unit,a/c solar sensor, a/c room temp sensor, inlet servo motor, air vent servo motor, gateway ECU, engine Ecu, combination meter, drivers master window switch, wireharnesses and possibly a few more items i cant remember off the top of my head.
So it CAN be done, but its not COST EFFECTIVE, ot LABOR EFFECTIVE.

Default thanks mustang67408, for the info, holy cow!! that's a lot things to change

you're right, not worth it, if it was a matter of just swapping out the center console, then I'd do it in a minute,
but with all those things you listed, I'm sure I'll screw something up and wished I never tried in the first place,
and the wife will shake her head in disgust and I'll be in the doghouse
