Default 4WD? How can I tell?

This may sound like a stupid question, but how can I tell if a Highlander is a 4WD model? I have been looking at a 2002 Limited that is advertised as a 4WD vehicle, but when I test drove it, I couldn't find a button for the 4WD mode! The only thing I found was an "ECT SNOW" button. Am I looking in the wrong place? Is there a chance this is an AWD Model? Thanks for the help.

No emblem on the hatch ?Look under neath the vehicle. If ya see a drive shaft going to the rear wheels,it's not a front wheel drive only vehicle.

I didn't see an emblem on the hatch, but I will check. My Limited Sequoia has the i-Force emblem, so it made me a little leary. I suppose the easiest way would be to look underneath, lol. Thanks a lot.

iForce relates to the engine, not the drivetrain I think.

All Highlanders are either 2WD or AWD. Toyota doesn't offer the Highlander in a 4WD option that you can put in and out of 4WD.

Just an update, the Limited I looked at is a 4WD (AWD) model. I just missed the emblem on the tailgate last time I looked at it. I think it's pretty much down to a Highlander or an Acura MDX at this point. Then i can give the new vehicle to my wife and reclaim the Sequoia, yippie!
