cinobyte, I'm not 100% certain, but I believe I'm correct in saying it has to be done by the dealer and or possibly an actual key/locksmith shop.

I actually stopped by and got the dealer today to do it for me since i could not find any info on the web.
I have not looked at the PDF u posted yet but he just had to open the door a couple of times and insert the key a couple of times ect ect
I really appreciate your post tho i will pass the info along as needed for other HL owners around the world.

does anybody know if the FCC ids have to be the same? I have a 01 highlander that only has one key fob, but my 04 DC came with two that I don't need because it has the Clifford Remotes...thanks

Yes the FCC #'s need to match between the fob & the ecu

Well, the FCCs don't match but after a couple of trial and error attempts, it works! I couldn't be happier. Now I have 2. Thanks for posting the instructions, your ROCK!

I have a 2005 Toyota Prius with keyless operation and am going to buy an extra key fob on ebay. NHParrott, can I follow those instructions in your pdf to basically add another fob, even if the code is different? I'm trying to avoid having the dealership scan it...
