This is a discussion thread titled "I got Genuine Toyota Factory Repair Service Manuals!!", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Re: I got Genuine Toyota Factory Repair Service Manuals!!
I actually got them off ebay and for ALL THREE with shipping they were only $153.00 TOTAL! That seems to be a steal since I have seen a single manual go for $150.00 on ebay in the past!!!
The other cool thing about this deal was that all three of these manuals were barely used according to the seller. Once I got them I could not tell that they were EVER used! How freekin' sweet is that?
Anyway, If you know how to contact Toyota directly, check out their prices and please let me know what they are asking for each of the manuals listed above. I am curious now, but I still think I got a great deal.

Typically, you're not going to get a better price than from an individual who has used books to sell. However, Toyota has the cheapest prices on new manuals. I thought I had the info stuck in one of my manuals but could not find it. One of the techs on the forum can help or even do a further search. I might have posted the information before.
As an aside - all tech docs have "updates," so you might even want to contact Toyota and see how many revisions have occurred since your manuals were printed. Might save you some heartache later trying to find the "blue" wire when it was really "green."

Cool. I will get in touch with Toyota to see about updates. That really would stink to spend hours looking for one color wire only to find it is a different color! LOL
These manuals are freeking great! I admit, I don't understand half of the stuff in them, but hopefully I will learn.

Definitely read the introduction sections, especially in the wiring manual. It will explain all the wiring codes, how to take connectors apart, what repair kits exist, etc. The initial sections of the wiring manual show individual circuits and the back section shows systems. There is also cross reference information for location of electrical devices and also their basic functions. It's very handy when ordering connectors as well.
Toyota has a separate publishing unit that handles all the manuals, etc. I believe they just have a 1-800 number so you have to call. I have no idea what they would charge for updates or if you have to "subscribe" to an update service for each year. I know that I've found a few errors in my manual even though it came with some update pages.

Re: I got Genuine Toyota Factory Repair Service Manuals!!
I have been buying the Toyota manuals for years for several Toyota's I have purchased, until now. I just bought an '06 Avalon and the three volume manual at the Toyota Publishing site is $350 plus shipping. So far no one has them for sale on ebay. I've decided to subscribe to the online Toyota Tech service at the Publishing site. It's available for daily, monthly or yearly subscriptions. I'm going to get a one month subscription for $50. I've purchased a 1 Gig USB memory stick ($39 at Staples) and for the month I'll download all of the PDF files from the manuals I think I'll even need. In reality the books are great to have but 95% of them covers things I'd never attempt to do on my own, like rebuilding the engine. They are great if you want to figure out how to remove the center dash panel to try and find that elusive squeak you have behind the radio. The other advantage is with the one month subscription you have access to all Toyota manuals for all Toyota vehicles from 1989 to present.
