I have a 2006 Highlander with the factory Towing Prep Package. Does anyone know what Toyota part number I need to order to get the trailer wire harness? I already have an aftermarket hitch, but now I need to buy the wiring harness to connect to the factory trailer plug (located on the left side of the rear comparment). The converter part number is 08921-48860 but this does not include the wire harness.
I still think it's a crock of bull that the option "Towing Prep Package" does not come with this harness kit (which probably costs Toyota all of $2 to produce, but will cost you $40+ at the dealership).
Glenn,
Is the Highlander wiring harness of the flat four pin variety or is it the 7-pin Bargman type as on the Tundra and is the Highlander pre-wired for a trailer brake controller?
Also, do you know what the max tongue weight is for the V6 models? Toyota.com only gives a max towing capacity of 3000 lbs.

Craig, on my HH it was a flat connector that came with the factory trailer wire harness.
