This is a discussion thread titled "Highlander Tire recomendations", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
My mom has a 04 Highlander 2wd and I was wondering what is the best tire for the highlander.

I bought this 4runner for $200. Currently its not running but I hope it will soon. I got some sweet plans for it. Post pics as I go.
I'll second that, expensive but wear like iron, are quiet on the highway and have great snow and wet traction. I just put a set on my wife's '03 Highlander last fall.

I wanted to put the cross terrains on my wife's '03 Highlander but they were out of the right size, so I settled for the Michelin LTX's. They're also very quiet with good traction in everything we've driven through, but the tread is much more aggressive looking. I kind of like the look, though.

I am on my second set of Michelin Cross Terrain's with 145,000 miles. First set went over 80,000 miles and I still had tread left, but I thought that was alot of miles for a tire. You can't go wrong. I got them at Costco.
I just acquired a set of Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's and they made a great difference with ride, stability, and quietness over the stock Dueler H/T's. Highly rated on Tirerack.com.
I loved the Michelin Cross Terrains on my pick-up until I switched to Brigestone Dueler Alenza. Much quieter and responsive. I also had the cross terrains on my HL until trade-in. After considerable research, I went with the Goodyear Forenza Triple Treads. The BEST tires I've ever owned!
Michelin was the best, the Bridgestone ALenza was an imporvement, and teh Triple Treads are super! Expensive? YES! Worth it? YES!
Factory OEM Toyo tires had good tread first 5,000 miles. By the time they had 30,000 miles on them, they were bald. Decided to bite the bullet and get the Goodyear Fortera Triple Treads (Goodyear Fortera Featuring TripleTred Technology)
They are very expensive, but hands down the best tires I've ever owned. I cannot make them hydroplane driving through deep water and they are very quiet considering the tread they have. I currently have over 6,000 miles on the triple treads and they still look brand new.
