Default Cruise control...make less aggressive?

Hi, I'm a first time owner of a Highlander 2006.
Can the cruise control be set so it does not accelerate on the slightest upgrade?

My 06 H/L Ltd. V6 is fly by wire . unless yu can flash the ecm through the lan. it cant be done. I agree that it is very agressive. I believe to the pointhat the cruise is almost not a economy device as they used to claim.

Toyota has shifting issues with the 5-speed and I believe this is all tied in.

You might need to help your cruise control a little by anticipating the grade. By this I mean stepping on the accelerator a little to gain some speed before the grade. Your cruise control can not look ahead and see the grade, it thinks the road is going to be continually flat.

Some folks have had a similiar problem with their Tundra's which are a bigger vehicle with a larger engine. I haven't seen any other way around it.

Ive have a V8 4x4 tundra and the slightest hill and drop in mph will send the tranny down 2 gears, its extremly annoying. Only thing that seems to help is to give it some gas before the hill.
