Actually, That's a decent and fair price. Not the best. But without running around to save maybe $20 bucks ,it is
good.
I've seen much higher being charged.
You can do the programming yourself if yu are patient and inclined with such.
What I did was buy two
Toyota keys for $36 each(trade discounted)(uncut/blanks) I wont mess with the
aftermarket Chip keys out there . I heard of many bad ones.
I went to the local locksmith and copied from my existing Master key. He cut it for like $1.50 a piece.
Then I followed the procedure from an excerpt of Toyota service Manual.
I don't have it handy...I checked...maybe gave it away to someone.
Reach out, someone else or the ADM. might have it for yu.
It is invoved though. Timing is key for the procdure to work the programming of the chips.
But it does work.
I've seen dealers use their scanner to do it.
And, I've even seen a
service writer do it the way I did it using the onboard Vehicle ECM and procedure.
99% of Dealers WILL say only the dealer can do it with SPECIAL equipment! That's B***S***.
Initially, the parts dept told me I Must have them Program it, and would not give me a
Blank Key Only price. I went back and forth with this parts guy. He would not sell me only the key blanks. Made up all these BS excuses. Like, "where is your vehicle"? "Need to see it first" Security issues...etc. .This and that. I insisted I want a BLANK KEY PLease!
I told him I have a right to purchase ANY available Toyota part I want! The Manager overheard me for several minutes yelling. And then he came to me and discounted two keys upfront . No words spoken. He said go pay the cashier.
It seems that some dealers covet these chip blanks, as they are MONEY makers for both Parts Dept. AND the Service dept.
But your prices are very decent. Go for it.

Good luck
