Hi Everyone!

This is my first post and I'm hoping that you guys can help me with something.

I have a 2005 Highlander with factory DVD that I'm trying to add a pioneer AVIC-D2 navigation system to. I took it to a local installer and the tried to install it but they could not get the DVD to work without having the factory radio plugged in.

The question is does anyone know how to get around this, or where can I get enough technical data about the radio and dvd to figure it out. I have an EE degree so I can read schematics and stuff.
