Hi all,

New to the forum; I've been a technician on corporate jets for almost 30 years and have an '02 Highlander that I'm just getting into serious PM - best car I've ever had.

Just getting my own 04 highlander and am very excited. We just sold our exterra to get it. We loved the exterra very much, but three car seats don't fit great on the one seat, so we went with the highlander for the third row. Can I get bigger tires for it though? Does anyone know what the biggest size I can put on it without rubbing? It looks like there's a little more room for bigger tires than the 07, so hopefully we can do a little improving. Ii was thinking of doing a small lift too in order to squeeze in a little bigger tire. Any thoughts or suggestions? Let me know. Thanks.

Hello All,

Newbie here with an '05 I4/4WD/40K miles. Driving like an old lady (but not from Pasadena)and getting 27 mpg highway only and just over 25 in mixed use. My boy was just getting too big to fit in the back seat of a Focus and I couldn't pass this one up at the price.

Lots of good info, thanks. Mine has OEM steel 16" wheels and I'm looking for a set of factory alloys in the same size. Anybody got a set in the rafters that they want to get rid of cheap? (Hey, I am really a Scot after all, talk about a race of penny pinchers!)

Cheers,

Guylander

Hi new member, first post. Great to be here!

I'm new to these forums and might not have my hands around "proper protocol". Let me know if I'm posting in the wrong place!

We're turning in our sienna and looking at a Highlander. 2002, 95K, 4cyl, appears to be in great condition! Wasn't sure if I should be concerned about the SPA/oil gelling or any other issues on this rig.

Any thoughts on buying this with this kind of milage?

thanks,

kevin c

Hey, kc here,

we just bought a 2002, HL, 4cyl, fwd, dark blue metallic, tan interior, standard wheels, roof r!

We're pretty much diggin' it! the kids love it. It had 99K, but felt pretty tight when I drove it. The thing we wish it had was a car computer! We just turned in a sienna lease and loved checking our MPG and avg MPG as we were "hyper-miling".

Seems like a good rig!

Hello to all! I have Toyota Tundra 05'and I’ve had numerous alignment problems; let alone replacing 2 sets of tires and I only have 35,620 miles on the truck. I've taken the truck to two dealerships; in addition I've replaced the ball joints (per recall), and today after visiting the dealership about 5 weeks ago, who told me my front driver side tire was out 1 degree and that should do it, but once again, I'm out of alignment and my tires are just about shot... The tires are "Bridge's", any help why this is happening? I'm feel there's something serious going on... Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Folks

Just bought a pre-owned 2007 Highlander with a 6 cyl, with standard equipment, everthing seems good. Its still under warrranty, I noticed that the passenger side headlight lens? is all fogged up?? Just also wondering if a 2008 multi cd player from a highlander would fit mine, as mine is a single unit. So far nice and tight, lots of room. We shall see how the mileage is???

I have a 2008' Tundra Double Cab (Grade Model) with a tow package installed by dealership. the problem that I'm experiencing is that all of a sudden my boat trailer lights only work when I depress by brake pedal. Has someone experienced a similar problem. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Tks.

Hello All,

I live in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. My wife and I own a 2004 Toyota Highland Limited. We have put 124,000 miles on it after purchasing it new. We have made one trip to South Dakota and one to California and back pulling a Casita Travel Trailer plus numerous trips to Savannah, Ga. and Jacksonville, Florida to visit our children. We love our Highlander. I found this site after the dealer told me today that I needed about $900 worth of work done on the car. A couple of lights came on after having the oil changed. Of course, it never happens when at the dealership. I had driven about 20 miles and was headed home when it happened. After hooking it up to some machine, he advised me that I needed four relays having to do with the exhaust system. He said it would not stop on the side of the road but my gas mixture might not be correct. I am taking it to my personal mechanic in the morning for a second opinion. I hope it is better than the first. Best wishes to all on here and I look forward to hearing news of Toyota and Highlanders.
Bill

Picking up a 2007 Highlander w/ 19,000 miles tommorrow and she's a beauty. Great forum here and looking forward to gaining insight and sharing when I have something worthwhile. Trading our 2003 corolla in on this and think we'll love the upgrade.

Proud owner of a '03 Highlander! Just bought it 1/09 w/104k miles. but I'm no stranger to Toyotas so I'm looking forward to getting 125k + more out of it. Funny how I came across tundrasolutions, it all started when 2 days after my purchase I noticed intermitent heat problrms. I searched the web and thank the lord I stumbled here. I found the fix right here, just a simple turn on the loose nut behind the controls. Saved me time, frusteration and $$. I have my old '99 camry with 240k miles(bought it 6 years ago w/99k) on it and am going to try to sell it. Runs great but has some little bugs associated w/it. Anyhow, it's great to be part of the gang!

Hi,

Just bought a new V6 Sport for my wife, had a Prado in Middle East and love all things Toyota so also bought myself an FJ Cruiser.

Came across this forum as looking for lift options for the Highlander - love the car etc but its just too damn low and she's used to being higher, any ideas appreciated

I bought a 05 toyota highlander last week (02/14/09), this is my 2nd toyota vehicle. I had a 2001 toyota corolla which I sold after I bought this car. Over all it's a nice suv, love it but I have one problem that I have noticed.

I am noticing the same intermittent heater quiting problem, it's the same problem that is mentioned in the thread - heater quit sort of intermittently.

I don't have the soldering skills and tools needed to fix this on my own. I live in Colonia, NJ, 07067. Does anyone have a suggestion for a shop or an individual who would fix this issue for a reasonable price? NJ members may have a good idea or any board member want to help me out with fixing this. Any help is appreciated.
