HighlanderGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid.
This is a discussion thread titled "Hello Everyone", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
I actually bought my Highlander about 3 years ago, and we've loved every minute of owning it.
I dropped in a K&N filter, and have excellent results, we're still looking into an exhaust, something that will give it a nice tone, but doesn't sound too truck like or ricey.
I've installed some Co-Way HIDs, one of the best investments I have made. I just picked it up today from having a Pioneer Navigation unit installed by Mobile FX.
There's some other goodies, listed in the signature of course.

The HIDs aren't BiXenon because of the seperate system the Highlander using (Hi and Low beam each have their own bulbs) It cost me around $225 shipped.
The wife and I love them to death, much better than the stock bulbs, even for being the dimmer bulb of those offered. The lines literally almost seem to jump at us from the road. Where before you'd see a white line with a light over it.
Here is an interior night shot. BTW... this system was real easy to install. In fact, the only problem I ended up having was Toyota hard wired the connectors wrong on the vehicle.

Nice. Have you ever had any issues blinding other people? Does oncoming traffic hi-beam you back?
When I had oem hid's on my previous car, some people would flash me from time to time (not for police....) and my car sat pretty low stock. They weren't projection like these.
I've seen some suv/truck with aftermarket HID kits and are blinding since they are so high, although I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately set it up like that... I most certainly don't want to drive around like that.
The daytime running lights actually use the Hi Beam bulb in the Highlander. So you're HIDs never come on till it gets dark (if you use the automatic lighting) or till you turn on your head lights.
I have actually had zero issues with flashing. In fact, ever since I put these on, nada. I used to get flashed all the time because I used to use my fog lights. With these, hadn't had the need for the fogs.
Or maybe people are just consipiring against me. LOL. If you do get these, and people start to flash you, you can actually adjust the headlight beam down a little bit more. I just stuck my bulbs in, and off I went, not adjustments.

I adjusted my head lights a bit lower after the HID. I noticed the extra light power with the OEM lens which is not designed for HIDs. It still provide excellent lighting after the adjustment but won't blind the on coming traffic.
