Default SR5 VS Limited grilles
Hey everyone, I know that there are a lot of threads out there regarding the hating of the chrome strips on the grilles of the '03-'06.

Is the grille on the Limited the exact same as the SR5?
The reason for asking is the replacement grille for a color coded SR5 is about $320.00. Heres the kicker....price for Limited replacement grille...$185.00

I got these numbers by calling my local dealer. He could not explain why the difference, just told me to make sure they were the same since they were 2 different part numbers.

Can anyone verify?

They are exactly the same as far as mounting. Many people on here have replaced or painted their SR5 Grille. I want to eventually but I would like to have the 3m paint protection installed on the hood first to protect what I want to keep I want to eventually replace the SR5 bumper with a limited one too.

Cool, then I will buy the Limited grille for $135.

Any idea why the SR5 costs so much more?...is it the chrome??

Not sure why, is the limited replacement grille painted? The ones I have seen are but don't rely on me, I haven't bought one yet

...yeah, they're painted. I guess its the chrome. Its the only thing I can I can think of. But DOUBLE the price.

I replaced my SR5 grille for a TRD one from trdparts4u.com. I also replaced my bumper with one from a limited model.

IMO, the limited front end looks a whole alot better.

I am simply NOT a chrome man. So the Limited is not for me.
I just cant figure out why such a spike in price from Limited up to the SR5.

Actually the Limited is for you cause it doesn't come with the chrome strips.

After wreckin my tundra a few months ago I had them replace my broken grille w/ a Limited one and it looks alot better. Just not a fan of the chrome strips and it was cheaper.
