Is anyone else's metal grill insert rusting from behind the clearcoat? Mine looks like crap. Molly Designs was smart to use mild steel No wonder they stopped manufacturing body kits and went back to designs and graphics.
I started looking through websites for perforated metal sheets, but the cutout pattern on the IS grill appears to be custom. There's a perforated metals manufacturer near me,I'll probably visit them this week to see if they can do custom patterns in stainless or aluminum. I also emailed Molly Designs to see if they can connect me to whoever manufactured the grill insers for them.

I have this problem with my grill, its slightly rusting in between the grill holes, these were laser cut custom holes, you wont find a replacement like it.
For around $40 bucks you can have a company dealing in powder coating refurbish it, they sandblast the old thin powder coat, and re apply it, member and moderator "Jbtoy" had this done, I plan on doing also, but mine isn't real bad yet, so I'm putting it off.
Haven't had any issues with mine..hope it stays that way

Is there any specific place in which you can get TRD grills?
No, not really. The true Ivan Stewart TRD grills were only made for the early (chrome bumper) Tundras. Those grills are no longer being made.
There is a company called ATS Designs that makes an IS-like grill for the later (plastic bumper) Tundras. And the Darrell Waltrip DC also came with grill similar to the IS grill.

Exactly! Mine was showing problems within 15 months. If you want detail, do it over and will last a long time. Cannot replace them because they are hard to find, so, recondition is the way to go ( I have a pic in my photos) Mine has been fine since it was done in new powdercoat. (yes, it does not see the road every day, but not sure if that matters)

I found someone who does custom stainless steel parts with a waterjet,so I sent him the grill insert I might get something done besides the oval pattern.

I just took mine out and shot it with Rust-O-leum. They have a paint that looks like a hammered finish.
