Default Cheaper Flares out there?

Good Lord. I scratched the rear passenger fender flare on my 2K TRD 4WD the week after I bought it back in 2K. Now that I have been looking at this eyesore for almost 3 years now, I am wanting to do something about it. What I DO NOT want to do is go spend $230 on a replacement flare from Toyota.

Are there any other replacement flares out there that you guys own that are cheaper and look good?

My Tundra is a Platinum Metallic SR5 TRD and I am considering looking for a chrome finish flare.

Any suggestions on vendors are greatly appreciated!

I feel your pain. I chewed one of mine up off roading. I ended up replacing the factory units with Bushwacker flares. I've been extremely happy as they hold up much better. The plastic is much harder and takes the off-roading that I do without picking up scratches and dings.

Mine cost me $385 for all four installed. I believe they also look much better as they are smaller. Beware however that the stock TRD mudflaps won't fit with the new flares. Mine wrap around the bottom though and do a pretty good job of catching the muck.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend them. Check out member dyogim; I know he has them and has pictures on here.

Good luck.

the fender flare i have are made by EGR. i got these off of e-bay and i love the look. they don't stick out as far as the trd ones.

i only paid $289 for the complete set and they are easy to install. it uses all of the factory holes and it does come with hardware.

if you would like pics e-mail me ( chuck_tempe@yahoo.com ) and i could send you those.

these ones work with the stock mudflaps that come with the truck. my sr5 didn't even have the skinny little black and chrome fender flares on it when i bought it.

Just got a JC Whitney catalog in the mail. It has EGR Tundra flares for $330 less a 15% discount through the first of April.

There is a set of Black Iven Stewart flares on ebay that is going to end in about an hour from the time I post this. It is currently $150. Better hurry.

Default I saw those.....

And looked at them long and hard. Should've bid on them I guess.

Isn't there a difference in those flares and TRD flares when it comes to the way they fit with the mud flaps?

I am going to try the parts store and body shop scene today to see if any other company is making replica aftermarket flares and see if they are any cheaper, which they should be.

Thanks for the tip.

The IS flares does not work with the SR5 mudflaps and TRD offroad package or limited mudflaps.
