Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "TRD Decals", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I bought new TRD stickers for the BED of the truck. What is the proper way to put them on? Are they like the old model airplane/car decals where you soak them in water first? Or will they simply pull away from the mounting paper and go on like a regular sticky decal? Anyone else put new ones on? What are the tricks?

Joe....
Hovisimo posted on 2/24/02 asking for measurements on where exactly the TRD sticker is applied, as he had just purchased them.
You might PM him and ask him how he applied them.
BTW, when did you receive your stuff? I still haven't rec'd the TRD oil filler cap I ordered.
Jesus christ!! $61 for a pair of TRD stickies??? Good lord!!
Actually that is a better price than what I paid. Try $70 pair. I would have only figured about $15 apiece. I made the parts guy repeat the price to me 3 times before it sunk in. Still in shock.
Well at least they look good on the truck.
They come mounted on 3M paper and are "fairly" easy to mount, once you know how to get them lined up. The paper backing is actually a template that lines up with the rear tail light and the fender flare. Pretty cool. Only took a mechanic buddy of mine to show that to me before I said "duh", then it was obvious. Before then I couldn't figure out why they were 3 feet long.

I took mine to the dealership I bought the truck from and their body shop put them on for free. And the good part is -- they know exactly where to put them.

Carson Toyota has them. The exterior stickers cost about $80 and the one for interior dash is about $25. If you mount them yourself, make sure the quarter panel TRD sticker is at the correct location. It is higher than the TRD offroad sticker. Before you do them, use the following pictures as reference.
I got my TRD Off Road stickers for $30/each from Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota. I am changing my current TRD Red/black ones to a more subtle Grey/Charcoal look. Just need to find the time to do the switch.
