Default arm rests

Has anyone ever come up with a decent way to raise up the drivers side arm rest? They all seem to eventually drop in position..

go to ace hardware and pickup a flanged nut- unzip armrest cover- remove armrest and slip flanged nut over post and put armrest back on-- mjl

I needed a bit more lift than that, so instead of adding flanged nut, I drilled a hole in the channel that the post rides in and put a short heavy duty self tapping screw in there to shorten the travel.
