Default Replace 03 front w/02 front end?

Anyone know or think the new 2003 Tundra front end (grille & bumber) can be interchanged with the 2002 front end & grille?

You know, after completing my IS kit. I think it can be done. From visually looking at the 03's and 00-02's the only difference is the hood, grille, lower grille valence, and entire bumper. Looking at where the bumper mounts to the frame seems to be unchanged. The rest seems to be take off and put on.

Don't hold me to it, I've never tried it. There just might be some little obsticles that are unseen.

What color do you have... perhaps somebody would trade you?

...Because the new all pastic front end is ugly and makes the Tundra look cheap. It was a bad move for Toyota to do this design. The thin paint already used on Toyota trucks is going to get blasted off the front end of this all plastic (painted) bumber.

One thing they may have done to keep up with the rest of the markets "professional grade" truck designs is create a new look that incorporated the old Tundra and the current Tacoma desing into something new and "Adult" looking. This new front end is for kids. I don't think I am the only one who feels this way. Look at the amount of newly purchased 2002 Tundras running around after this desing was introduced. Seems like a lot of folks wanted to get their hands on the old model. My guess would be because the new one is awfull looking.

No reason to think the 2004 Crew Cab is going to have a better looking or new front desing end than the 2003.

It was a bad move to you, but I get alot of compliments on my truck. And have even had many people ask where I got it, how it drove, and how much it cost because they wanted one.

To me the front end is no different than adding ground effects. Look at the ford Lightning. It has a plastic front end. It is a new look for trucks and I agree that the younger generation will like it more. This is becoming the style. I am 22 and really like the way it looks(though I dont care for the chrome inserts on the SR5's but it will grow on me). I have a 2003 Tundra Limited stepside (traded in 2001) and I get alot of compliments on how sharp it looks. The new front end gives it a more sporty look(which is why ford uses it for the lightning). For everyone you give me that doesnt like it I can easily give you people that do.

Kids now days have a bigger impact on modern cars than they used to. I am 22 and have already owned a 1998 Camaro, 2001 Tundra and now a 2003 Tundra. Car dealers are starting to realize that kids are actually starting to make good money at young ages.
