    Default Found my stepside!!

I just about gave up searching for a white stepside 4x4 locally, a guy at Tempe Toyota that I had called sometime back called me up & told me he just got in a white stepside 4x4. I went in the next day, quite sure I would not be buying the truck (my previous trips to other dealers were the usual lies of "gee, it was here yesterday" or "you said White?") but arrived to find an exact fit. White 4x4 SR5 TRD, towing pkg, SR5 value pkg, buckets. I then waited for the story about how fast stepside move & how hard to find they are when I produced my Edmunds info. They took my figure (a little above invoice) and came back very close to it, but added in a "TDA" of $500 which is a somewhat legidimate charge. Minus the $1000 rebate for my cash purchase put the total quite below Invoice & my target price. I could not come up with a single reason not to buy the truck, as they offered to deliver to my home. So now it sits in my Garage! Now I must find a good owner for my old 92DxCab 4x4 V6 (61K miles!) It will be hard to give up the old truck!

    Default keep it

I faced the same diliema. I ended up keeping my 89 longbed v6 to drive to work or to haul junk around in. i had several good offers from friend and coworkers who wanted to buy it but I just could not give it up

    Congratulations!!
What a sweet lookin' truck. Looks like you did your homework, too regarding price....so that just adds to the joy of a new Tundra. I sure dig that retro look.
Check out daniel horne's white stepside tires/rims.....just a little pic to tempt you for later!!

Thumbs up Removing the Tundra lettering!

    Hey "EZ2BME", niceeee truckkk!!.
A question to you about the removal of the Tundra badging. Any hints for doing this ? The badges on the doors are just a bit tooo much for me. I know hat they are glued on, but I am a bit worried about just tugging them off. I am still deciding about the TDR decals... Thanks for any advise!!

    Default

There are threads on how to do this in the Exterior thread in the Garage forum.

But basically warm it up, lube it up with something like Eagle 1 Wax-as-you-dry and use 20lb fishing line to saw cut through the adhesive.

Do it... then replace them with these:

The TRD stickers on the bed are a pain and tedious, but not hard... heat 'em with a blowdryer and peel them off with the help of a plastic scraper.
