Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Raammat: Good Business", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Just ran across this thread on another forum. If I go looking for sound dampening material anytime soon, these guys will be high on my list. Just thought I'd share...you'll have to read through a couple of pages but basically a guy gets some bad Raammat and the founder of the company chimes in on the thread to make it right. Nice to see good business going on. Raammat BXT - Diy Mobile Audio

Rick is indeed a good businessman. I think he's got an account here as well. RAAMaudio is the name.
If/when you go to buy, tell him youre from TS and you might get a little discount or at the very least some extra special care. I tried to do a Group Buy before, but it didn't go over very well with the Group Buy policy we have here.

dang you're only about 3 hours from me dibble. I'd like to get some raammat and ensolite too, then have a deadener party. Need to properly gut this thing. Easier with 4 hands!

I'm still planning on how to accomplish this while being able to still drive the truck to work. I'm thinking to just gut the entire thing and work on it every night, then install the two front seats before I go to bed (I have the side airbags, the srs light will come on without the front seats in) Then just take my time installing the deadener. It's definitely not a quick job for an evening. I'm kinda Monk'ish too, everything has to be perfect I don't mind meeting and working together though. Or if I finish, you can then hear the difference and see if you still want to do it. Hopefully all the work will be worth the results. I used carpet padding in my 4runner floor, and that made a noticeable difference, so hopefully when I do the job right it will be more noticeable

What kind of living arrangements are you in? if you odnt mind me asking. Apt., house with garage, townhouse, etc.
I'm in an apt. with not much parking, so I had to do mine in stages. My rear bench seats were in my living room for a week, lol. It was also the middle of summer, so my tailgate made for a good workbench cutting up everything. And heating up the deadener was no problem, it kind of baked on my line-x.
When are you going to start?

I'll probably be doing this outside in the driveway, maybe garage but thats full of stuff. All parts of the truck once I gut it are going inside.
How does your apartment look on car stuff? I work in real estate and many associations that we have dealt with will not allow working on vehicles in the parking lot.
All the materials will be here next Thursday, so I'll be busy over the weekend I'll make sure to take lots of pictures!
BTW, heres a really good thread on toyotanation concerning sound deadening. I really like the expanding foam idea, just have to make sure I don't put too much, and use a less powerful foam. That stuff can bend sheet metal if used too much.
