Removing rearview mirror, '08 Tacoma

Pretty simple, really, though it took me a while to figure it out, as I didn't want to be too agressive in putting force on the windshield.

When I used a small mirror to look at the underside of the rearview mirror, I saw two medal posts. I thought these posts would have to be compressed to release the mirror...well, it's just the opposite. These posts spread to release the mirror from the window mount.

So, really, all you have to do is use your thumb and index finger to apply pressure on the bottom side of the mirror while wiggling the mirror....it slides up and off! It wasn't too tuff!

Boy, what a pleasure to drive in town without that blind spot.
