Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Color Match Attempt", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Well I pulled off my passenger handle and my emblem today to see what it ended up looking like. The emblem was that chrome finish and all I did was scuff it and use Dupli-color promoter. It came out fantastic, perfect finish and shiny. The handles on the other hand came out flat looking (guess I didn't get them nearly as smooth as I thought I did. My new idea is to find the chrome ones and use the same procedure. If that doesn't work I will be buying another black passenger handle set and leave it as is. Here are a few pictures.

Well from a distance they don't look bad, but up close they are horrible.

Handles or Emblem or both? Constructive criticism is good stuff... Thanks Cowboy.

Not sure about the emblem but the handles I like. If you already doen clear coat on the handles and there still have the shine you want here a tip.
Take like 2000 or finer wet/dry sand paper and hit it real lightly with water so it will help smooth it out more with out removing all the clear coat down to the color coat and clean and dry off and hit it again with a fresh coat or 2 of clear bet that bring the shine your looking.
Good Luck
