This is a discussion thread titled ""nerf" bars - we'd like to hear your opinions", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Just purchased the Westin Chrome 2 steps...can't wait to get them installed. Will get back with ya on how it went.
Paid $118 at Pro Tint
Wish this darn weather would break so I can do some of the cool Mods. that I have been reading about...Thanks
I got the Toyota nerfs right after I bought the truck almost two years ago (I think they're made by Westin or Steel Horse?) - they were a good price at the dealer and installed easily (with the middle support, too!).
I'm a big guy and use mine to get in the truck several times a day - they've never slipped, sagged or had any give to date - I'm totally happy with them!
I have a set of Grizzly oval tube nerf bars on my '92 4X4. They do not have step pads, you have to use the non-skid tape on them. The reason I like them is that the oval shape provides more secure footing, and because there are no step pads, you can step anywhere along the length of the bar. They also do not get slippery when wet, like the plastic pads. I carry kayaks on my truck, and I frequently need to stand at any spot along the entire length of the bar when lashing down the kayaks. A Grizzly rep told me that they should have this bar out for the 2002 and 2003 Tundras in about a month, so that's what I'm waiting for.
I got the Genuine Steel nerf bars from 4Wheelparts. It is stainless steel and it was about $270.00 installed. When I bought the bars, there was a special for free installation. I also like the idea that the bars have a lifetime warranty.

It wasn't a mistake,I checked out the site on two different 'puters to be sure.
I just tried the link and yup it's not working, their site may have crashed due to so many TS members getting on it at the same time Try it again in a few hours,it should be back up by then.

Dead here... same error message.
I can't imagine THAT many TS members flooding it enough to keep the server down (and up) for this long.
Really strange.

What error message are you getting? I've tried it quite a few times now and I've never had a problem...
