Default TRD Off Road sticker mod (pics)

Click on my photos to view the TRD Off Road sticker mod that I did.

The pics don't really do them justice and they look crooked in the pics but it is because of the pics...trust me

I just ordered the factory TRD Off Road stickers from Steve @ Carson Toyota and he sent them out (thanks Steve). They were kinda pricey though...around 30 bucks each. But I think it is worth it in the end. Sets my truck apart from the rest.

I think it makes a cleaner appearance that the factory Black/Red stickers.

Comments are welcome.

Umm, I don't get it? What exactly was I to see? Is it the color difference? I'm not flaming.

I like it! Am I wrong to assume as mentioned below, that it is the color difference? How did you get rid of the black and red? /Mike

Thanks

Yes it is the color difference. Good eye.

I just used a hair dryer to heat up the black/red stickers, peeled them off, used some wax to remove the residue, used some dish washing soap to remove the wax, then applied the stickers.

They are the exact factory stickers...and I got them from Carson Toyota

Well, again this site has done it to me. Just when I think I am done with exterior mods. and ready to start on the sound system, someone has to go and show off this sticker idea. I never liked the TRD stickers, but what you have done looks really nice. Now I may have to call Carson in the morning? Thanks

Oh, and I like your tailights. Can you tell me how you managed it? Did you buy them or modify them? They are nice too!
/Mike

Thanks for the comps....taillights I got off ebay. I think there is a set on there right now...cheaper than when I got them.

Good luck

Did you paint your fender flares? I see that you have an SR5 but with painted flares. I was thinking of doing this. What process did you use and have you had any chipping, etc.?

Nope...all of the 2003 SR5 models come that way. So I guess you would have to ask the factory

No chipping as of yet though

Talking TRD stickers

What did you use to center the new stickers onto the rear end?? The silver looks much cleaner, I think I may try it on my white 2003 SR5 4x4. All of your mods give it a subtle and classy look. Nice truck.

Thanks for the props...

Actually all I did was take a pic w/ my digital camera and studied it very carefully. I also measured it out some before taking the old stickers off. that helped too.

If I were to do it over again, I would use the warm soapy water technique so that I could position it better w/o it sticking right away.

Do a search on the site on decal application and you should find some good info on it.

Thanks again.

Looks great. Do you think there is a TRD sticker color that would be more subtle with black?
