Default A/C Heater temp control dial

Has anyone in the cold climate regions run into a problem with their temperature control dial on a 2000 Tundra. When the outdoor temp reaches below zero and the truck's been sitting outside the dial has a lot of resistance to movement. It's severe enough at 10 below zero I'm concerned the shaft will snap. If I leave it alone and wait for the cab to warm up ( dependant on it's existing setting) then with some resistance it's moveable. Between zero and forty degrees (all it's seen since I bought it) it works fine.

    Thanks, lgl002

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???

    Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks guys for the assistance. You've given me a path to follow to resolve the problem. I had thought it might be a rotary type vacuum switch and it was the dial mechanism that was the problem. As soon as it warms up enough around here I'll try your suggestion.

The cable has water in it and it frezzes when cold. Blow it out from the inside with compressed air and lube it with WD40 or the like. The cable points upward on the firewall where it connects to the heater TCV - anytime water gets in there and it gets cold, this is bound to happen!
