Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Best brand of window tint?", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I went to a local place, independent shop. They apparently use 3m, and they have done all of my last five trucks and the wifes subaru. Am very happy with them. They did the front windows for $100. I believe I chose (as always) 20%. It is a fairly light tint, but I tow... so i have to see my mirrors well, even at night. I think it is a good match all the way around. Provides privacy, and keeps the car cooler... plus it looks great. In fact, if you look at my pics above, that is with the tint in question.

This is mostly personal preference since all the "Quality" tints have lifetime warranties. There are a lot of 3M dealers so that is probably the easiest one to find. I prefer Illumar, I had their premuim tint on the Mazda that I traded in for the Tundra. I had that Mazda since it was new in 1993. The tint was still perfect. Of course it had faded a little but that is expected after 14 years.
I had the front 2 windows of my CM tinted, I tried Formula One ceramic this time.

Huper Optik ceramic. Lighter shades block more heat than others limo tint.
That's what I have on my truck and it works well but 3M Spectrally Selective tint is lighter and far more efficient. I have that on my windshield because you can't even see it.
