Default Rolling Thunder Grill Mod

After researching and looking online for a while for a grill for my 4Runner, I found the

JAOS Grill
Burtman Industries
looks great but way too expensive for me just for a grill

the Burtman Industries Billet grill and shell
Burtman Industries
another nice billet grill but too expensive also

Then I found the T-Rex Billet grill and shell
4Runner Billet Grille Shell 1996 - 2001 : T-Rex 50950
Very nice also I thought about getting this one

Then I decided to make my own I went on ebay
eBay Seller: saintsurfer25: Parts Accessories, 2004 - 2006 Ford F-150 2pc. Mesh Grille Grill 05 F150 items on eBay Motors
and bought a mesh grill made for a 04-08 4Runner and I modified it to the grill of my year 4Runner 99-02

The stock grill is held in place by 6 clips, I then used the steel wire that the seller sent with the mesh overlay pieces to attach it to my stock grill, I used my dremel tool to cut small slits in the grill from behind to help the wire “bite” into the shell for added security, then I put silicone over each spot to help with vibration the whole process took me about an hour after cutting the grill to make it fit then I paint the grill the same as I painted my calipers and drums I used poster board so now I have a template if anyone wants to try this just let me know I will be glad to help.

I like your grill. It's clean and subtle, and looks just as good as those billet grills but for a lot less money. I also made my own custom grill for my Tundra. It was a pain in the butt though.
