ok im pretty sure i want the tailgate clean. But the sides im having a problem deciding. Im leaning toward removing all but the SR5. For some reason i think the truck will look real plain with nothing there at all. If it was 2 wheel drive and lowared then id go completely clean with out a doubt. But being 4 wheel drive and possibly raised in the future i think it needs something to keep a not "tooo" smooth look. Does that make any sense?Ramble Ramble Ramble..... dont mind me

Lack of badging creates abundant curiosity. To the point that some Tundra owners do not recognize your vehicle as family. The chromeless look is sweet on the black Tun, but if the badges have been on for any length of time, there are shadows left behind after removal. Only visible in the right light, but I haven't been able to buff out.

I took all mine of except for the limited badges under the rear quarter windows. The truck looks a lot better with out them and I think my gas milage went up too,,,,,,,,Ha-Ha.
Fortunately for me, I have a heat gun. Since I use it often, I know when to take heat of certain surfaces. I heated up the badges about 6-10 inches at a time to soften the adhesive, then took a plastic putty knife (or a bondo squeegee would work) to lift the badge and adhesive away from the paint. If you try this method, never keep the heat gun in one place. Use a back and forth motion when heating the badge. Also, lift the badge with the plastic putty knife as you are heating in front of the section you are lifting. If the adhesive cools down, the bagde will not lift easily. And no I did not scratch the paint. (It helps to have a white turck! hehehe) If you have any residual adhesive, WD-40 (or goo gone, goof-off, etc.etc.) and a soft cloth will easily remove it. Good Luck.

Gotta take off the badges!!!! I've had mine off for about 1 1/2 years and it makes life so much easier. I wish I had the balls to take off my side moldings but i'm afraid of other people's doors dinging my truck.

Took off all but the SR5 badges on the side looks smooth and easier to wash and wax .

took mine off the sides. No truck should have any badging on the sides(unless it is a "supercharged" badge, of course!) Gives a much cleaner look, especially on the Limited where everything including the wheel well flares is color keyed.
