Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Debadging - General Information", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I removed my badges and didn't see any difference in paint color, and I have the same color you do. I had parked outside for a long time before our garage was cleaned out enough to park the truck inside....and here in San Diego, it's quite sunny.
Do it...you will love the new look and ease of cleaning/waxing!

You may get a bit of a "ghost" effect that you can see at certain angles and light exposures, but I agree with the sweetness of the clean badgeless look

I just took my badges off 3 weeks ago after having my Sequoia for 1.5 yrs. Can't tell at all that they were ever on. Granted, I live in Seattle but it's still sunny here sometimes
I highly recommend it!
I sliced the Toyota off of the Tundra on the back and moved it to the left.

Yo Chuck - check out the photo...
It's only on my tailgate - everything else is stripped for now ("we don't need no stinking badges!")
I will most likely look for a nice "Supercharged" badging for the tailgate when I add the mod some day - or do a custom design with computer-cut vinyl.
DeBadged this weekend. WOW what a difference. Why does Toyota bother? Found a GREAT chemical for removing "glue residue", it's called "Goof Off". Never heard of the stuff until Saturday when my neighbor suggested I try it on the residue. Simply stated. . . . . . lots of ventilation. I had a buzz going well into the evening.

Word of warning - DO NOT get "Goof-Off" near any of your plastic lenses (Headlights/Taillights) - they will instantly cloud-up and melt.
The best residue remover ever is an old product us old graphic artists have been using since the 40's and 50's - called "Bestine" rubber cement solvent. Safe on all plastics, paints and even paper! You can find it at an art supply store or online.
When I removed my badging I only used a little bit as I was pulling them off and that was it. The whole truck only took about 20 min.
