Default Blacked out grill

I have no idea if the link below will work but I'm gonna try. Check out the blacked-out grill. A very cheap alternative to billetts. $2.99 and 10 minutes:

The link worked but the pics are a little fuzzy. Any of you computer guru's have any tips for better pics. I've got a bada$$ digital camera but can't seem to upload its high quality pics to AOL homepages. I should have studied computers in school!

Looks good! What was the width of the black out tape you used? I can only find 1 3/8" wide tape. Thats not quite wide enough to cover the chrome in one pass.

I did it in 2 passes. I did it just to see if I wanted to paint it. It looked so good I just left it taped. If you use about 1/4" overlap in the center it doesn't look taped. Just keep the lines straight. I'll probably end up painting it anyway. I've never liked that chrome bar and don't see myself peeling the tape off. I like the rugged "Tacoma" look. I love my Tundra but the Tacoma is drop dead sexy.

I did something similar, but got a chromeless grill and had it painted jet black to match my truck. Much better w/o the chrome!!

tweeky, cool and cheep idea. TMS2U, me likey. I guess I am one of the few who actually likes the plastic chrome center part but absolutly dont like the outside frame at all. Would it be possible to buy a chrome-less grille and transfer the center piece onto the chrome-less one?

Here's a pic of what it would kinda look like http://www.revoh.org:1234/tundra/random/pages/hjkl.htm

Now thats a cool idea too. I never thought about that. I don't think you can do the grill parts swap. Its on piece. You'll have to paint it. Thats why I wanted to tape it 1st to see what it looked like. I think I'll paint it. TMS2U, looks great!
