1: Yes, I cut about a 3.75-4 inch hole in the back.

2: FX35, I don't know about the size differences.

3: Actually I only used 2 screws, both screw into the reflector with a lock nut on the other side, and JB weld. The way the projector fits inside the reflector, more than two screws is really not needed, it's very tight.

4: The solenoid only needs a + and -, it is not polarity sensitive. When you turn on the high beams it sends 12v to the solenoid.

5: I'll try to get pictures shortly of what I trimmed off.

6: Yes, I used the OEM dust cap. The aluminum tape is just so the reflections in the headlight housing look better. If I did not use it, you could see the back of the projector (what is not covered by the shroud.) in the reflections. The bulb is the only thing that sticks out of the dust cap.

7: I have not used anything to seal up the back of the reflector. At this point I don't think it's needed because I was able to use the dust cap. I might add something once I finish working on the passengers side.

8: The way I mounted my projectors, I adjust my headlights just like I did before. There are no additional aiming screws.

I can try to do a write up on this and post it as a PDF, might take me a week or two as I have had a busy schedule lately. I might not have taken enough pictures as far as the steps go, because I was learning as I went along. You should be able to do it. Just PM me with any questions. I also have two extra reflectors. So I could sell you those to use. Thats how I did mine, I did not touch my original headlights until the projectors were mounted correctly on my extra set of reflectors. Just buy an extra beat up set of headlights off of ebay. As long as the reflector is in good condition you're fine.

new Philips bulbs and a new shield will be here tomorrow, hopefully I'll be done by tomorrow evening!

It's done! The Philips bulbs are much better! The old aftermarket bulbs lit up five lanes but could not overpower other vehicles lights. These overpower all other vehicles with halogen bulbs.

nice work man,

did you manage to get pics of the parts which you trimmed off the projector?

what wires did you hook up to the + and - of the solenoid?

I'm now having doubts that the infiniti projector will fit in my housing. they look pretty big in your pics (height wise).

no pictures yet. I trimmed off all the mounting points though.

Does not matter which wire is + or -

hmmm, when you were baking the headlights, you preheated the oven to 250F and then stuck in the headlight. Did you keep the heat on for the 8 mins or did you turn it off after it reached 250F?

Left the oven on to keep the temp at 250F. Also, up to 12 minutes would be fine to leave the light inside the oven on a piece of cardboard. I did 10 minutes for the second headlight and it was much easier to open.

It's a careful balancing act. If you don't heat it up to much, you can still get it apart but you can distort the housing too much while prying. Leave it in too long and it will soften the housing too much. It has to be just right to have the glue soften enough, but the housing not soften. 10-12 minutes is perfect as it takes minimal prying to get apart.

Decided to sell the light bar. The HID's just completely overpower these lamps when everything is on high beam. Looks great on the truck, but not that functional anymore. With the halogen lights they were a lifesaver though as far as deer and other animals go.

Nice work! Now that it gets dark early, I am working on finishing my HID retrofit.
I just recieved my crossfire shrouds so now I have all the parts and will be working to mount them in the housings. I have a acura TL bixenon setup with the bmw ZKW lenses and 50w setup.

I like how yours turned out. I will be painting the whole inside of mine black.

Got the raintracker installed. Works great, can't wait till it rains, hahaha.

The RainTracker RT-50A module is an automatic wiper and light system. I have already modified my stock wiper switch to control the raintracker module. The "INT" setting will now turn the automatic wiper system on and off. The Sequoia light switch with the "Auto" setting will control the auto light functions of the module.
