Question Seat Covers

I was thinking about getting some Wet Okole seat covers but I'm a bit skeptical about the material's usefulness. i.e. Doesn't water just soak through the neoprene into the seats? I've surfed all my life and other than neoprene with a "smoothie" finish I've never seen neoprene resist water.

Default Re: Seat Covers

Yeah, I wondered that myself. I was afraid mildew would form underneath the cover and on the seat itself. This isn't dry-suit material we're talking about here, water will soak through. I know what my full wetsuit smells like after being left in the truck still wet and it bakes in the sun for a few days, I sure wouldn't want to have to peel off the covers to dry everytime I get them wet. I know a few people out here have them, any experiences you can share?

Question Seat Cover problem

Living on an island, i often find myself climbing into my vehicle sopping wet. Thus, I decided to outfit my 02 tundra with Wet okole seat covers. When I was installing them, i ran into a problem with the center console (60/40 bench seats) I cannot get the console pieces on so that they allow the cover to close and latch. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I have the wet okole seat covers, and it's true they aren't totally waterproof. They are thicker than a regular wetsuit with padding inbetween the two layers of neoprene, but you can soak them and still get your seats wet, yes. But I've launched my boat and got my shorts soaking wet, then jumped in the truck and the seats never got wet. So it can stand a pretty good amount of water before the water will soak through. I took them off after 6 months and there were no signs of mildew or bad smell or anything like that. I think they're a good investment.

I have the same seat covers, and all I can tell you is to try pulling it back. The covers are supposed to go right up to the latch but not obstruct it. The top piece actually covers the lever you push to open the console, so you just have to remember where it is and push it through the cover. The bottom part though shouldn't be going up as far as the latch. Try pulling it back or something.

I recently purchased the seat covers from wetokole. i put them on in the rain, heavy rain and the water just beaded away! The bottom side was completely dry. furthermore, when i encountered a problem with the center console piece, I called the company and they immediately decided to send me a new piece, no questions asked! definately a company to do business with.
