Okay, need some more help please! Used the fishing line and goof off, and it worked great! (i also found that if you are going to do this in 40 degree weather (the sun was shining, and it's colorado-what can I say!?) that the wife's blow dryer helps out a LOT!)
However, since i am not putting the decals back on exactly as they were, I need to figure out how to get rid of the hazy outline that is left from the previous decals... i tried turtle waxing it, bit it didnt help much. i have some super fine 400 grit sandpaper in the garage, but dont wanna tackle that unless someone else has done it before... any suggestions?

By the way- the green looks wicked cool... will post some pics sometime soon...

try one of those auto body detailing rubber eraser wheels...they worked wonders for removing all residue/adhesive on my truck.

After I had my 92' Mustang painted I left the 5.0 badges off. Initally I planned on ordering new ones but never got around to it. The only badge on it is the blue ford oval, which the painter put on, and the running horse in the grille.

I think the final result depends on the car. Some look really good, and others look cheap.

Cool Re: Playing around with the de-badged look

I've been wanting to de-badge my '08 DC and my VTX1800 but I just can't make myself do it. I want them clean and then I think the badges look good. I may have to do the photoshop thing.

I don't think I would try 400 grit sandpaper, but some jewelers ruge or some other kind of polishing paste should work great.

After looking at my truck more the other day I think I'm going to debadge the entire tailgate and remove everything except the "Tundra" from the drivers/pass door and the "TRD Off road" decals from the fenders.
