Re: chrome painting
I've not had good luck in painting over chrome parts. Road debris seems to chip it easliy, leavign a shiny chrome spot after a few trips on the highway. I tried to have my local body shop do it, but they were going to charge too much for a small piece and openly said their guranantee would not apply to it. I've been lurking ever since for a solution. I've read that a 2mil thick Zinc Chromate Primer is the best followed by several thin coats of your paint, followed by a hardened (2-part) clearcoat. Hope this helps...
