Default Door/window Belt molding removal

Mine are a bit faded so I got new ones. Looked in the service manual on how to remove the old ones and it say use a scraper. Not sure how that works. Has anyone replaced the black molding piece between the door and bottom of the front windows? It on the ouside of the door.

Default Re: Door/window Belt molding removal

Well, I suppose I'll answer my own question. The inside door panels had to come off and the 3 nuts for the side mirror assemblies as well. Once that's done, the belt moldings are held in by plastic clips. Not a bad job, took about 30minutes a side. They cannot be replaced w/o taking the door panel off, due to the way the mirror is mounted on top of it.
