I looked at the last picture in your series of 4, remember seeing it before and said "Dang if that doesn't look like western Washington State" Aha! it is. Just a howdy howdy to ya. I was born and raised in Everett.
To give you an idea of how ancient I am this next summer is the 50th class reunion of our class of 1960.
Well I've had grease under my fingernails for about 60 years now. I live and breath cars/trucks.
I noticed your very nice custom grill badge. Sharp! I recently put a new grill in my '03 Tundra V8. It's like the Tundra T3 grill. It's a smooth open cavity with a polished stainless steel mesh insert. I've been looking for something unique and classy to put in the grille. The second entry in this thread I believe asks you where you got it. I don't see a reply. But if you'd feel like sharing as one web-foot Washingtonian to another I'd sure be proud to have a sharp grill badge like yours.
I live in California. I have for many years. (From wet to dry).
I hope you don't mind a chatty message from an old-timer.
Been off on vacation a bit (still on it). But I do have the info on where I got the badge.
The site is Gaugeplates.com, your home for custom gauge and switch plates - scroll to the bottom you'll see the "standard" badges, done in chrome/black like mine. They are a plastic lamintate about 1/16" thick or so, and the black is laser etched through the chrome. Sticks in the location of the original emblem using 3M double tape (and it's stuck solid!). There are a few people I've seen on other forums with mesh replacement grills that have made up a sheet metal oval and bolted it to their grill and attached this new emblem to those - and it looks really good!
Since I had mine made, Jon (the maker) has also added some other color options as well - such as white on black (white is laser etched out of the black field), black on white, etc. The best thing to do is give him a call or drop him an email - the info is on his web site. He's a bit busy at times (contractor by day) but is a stand-up guy and really puts out the effort to stand behind his products. He's pretty much open to any "custom" ideas you've got - provided it doesn't contain copywrighted images. But I'm afraid the emblem on my rig is a one-of-a-kind. It's got a bit of a personal meaning to me (and happens to be across my back in ink) - so he's not allowed to share that design...
And yes - that's western Washington alright. A bit south of Everett (darn near Oregon), but still wet and green! I've been there since 1998. I grew up in N. Idaho (currently there on vacation) myself, before going to Milwaukee, WI, for college. How long after you left here did the webs between your toes and fingers start to go back to "normal"?
