Default 1st Gen Tundra Vent Visors

02 Access Cab. I currently have the in-channel window vent visors and I like the clean look, but its kind of a pain. I feel like I'm killing the window motor every time it closes, and it doesn't close all the way.

I'm looking for the ones that use 3m tape to mount around the black window frame and not on the door (paint). Every time I search online the photo is either unavailable or its a generic photo.

Does anyone have these? What brand etc. Thanks.

I can't help you with those, but I can say that I have the Wade in channel visors in mine and the windows close fully, with no apparent extra effort. Did you follow the direction when you installed yours? Warm weather and leave the windows rolled up for at least 2 days to mold everything for a good fit?

I bought them off of ebay, so they prob aren't the best quality. Can't remember the brand. I had my windows closed for like 4 days, and they've been in for over a month and its still rough shutting the windows.

Also, on hot days, when I do roll the windows up all the way, there is this creaking (must be window against plastic) for like 5 minutes then eventually goes away. Thats really frustrating, but like I said, they are probably cheaply made and thats my problem.

Not sure it if freezes where u are, but do your windows ever freeze shut due to the in-channel ones?

It almost NEVER freezes here and I park in the garage so I can't comment on that.

Maybe try spraying a graphite lubricant up in the channel to help the window slide in easier.

Was the part of the visor that goes in the channel thinner than the rest? I know on the wades it was really thin and I worried about them breaking, but I've had them almost 3 years with no problems.

I've got the Lund Eclipse on my 05 double cab. They tape onto the black window molding, not the paint.
